Jukebox Jury and Buccellati finished a respective second and third behind Champs Elysees in the Canadian International at Woodbine.

The two British challengers emerged with plenty of credit but could not match the finishing kick of the Khalid Abdullah-owned scorer.

Bobby Frankel's six-year-old took the lead late in the day and had half a length in reserve of Jukebox Jury, ridden by Royston Ffrench, at the line.

The William Buick-ridden Buccellati, trained by Andrew Balding, ran a blinder in third - another two lengths adrift of the winner.

Champs Elysees will now be retired, and is to stand at Abdullah's Banstead Manor Stud in Newmarket.

Garrett O'Rourke, manager of Juddmonte Farms in Lexington, said: 'To go out on such a huge win like this is obviously a huge boost to his stallion career.

'He deserves it.'

Successful jockey Garrett Gomez added: 'I just try to ride him with all the confidence in the world.

'He is probably one of the most talented horses I have seen, but he finds ways to get himself beaten. He seems to never end up in the winner's circle on the big days. I am glad to see him get a big one.'

The Michael Bell-trained Allied Powers beat home only one rival - German raider Quijano.
