The British Horseracing Authority is looking into a YouTube clip featuring jockey Johnny Murtagh at last year's Royal Ascot meeting.

The film appears to show Murtagh, who has since retired from the saddle to focus on his training career, and Sarah Lynam (daughter of trainer Eddie) exchanging an unidentified object following Sole Power's victory in the King's Stand Stakes.

A statement from British racing's ruler read: "BHA is aware of the piece of footage in relation to the King's Stand Stakes and is in the process of obtaining further information in relation to the issue."

Eddie Lynam insists there was nothing untoward in the exchange and is happy to answer any questions the BHA has on the matter.

He told the Daily Mail: "My daughter has been to Australia and back since. I asked her to rack her brains about what actually happened but she doesn't remember anything. The poor girl is mortified.

"Johnny Murtagh's and Eddie Lynam's integrity is 100%. We have never done anything wrong.”
