Sizing Europe will attempt to notch a piece of history by reclaiming the BetVictor Queen Mother Champion Chase he last won in 2011.

Now a 12-year-old, Sizing Europe has been victorious in 20 of his 40 races, amassing well over €1million in win and place prize-money.

He was no match for Sprinter Sacre at the Festival last March but closed the gap to just over five lengths at Punchestown in April - although Sprinter Sacre had also won at Aintree in between.

Henry de Bromhead's charge also holds an entry in the Ryanair Chase, but following Sprinter Sacre's defection the Queen Mother will once again be his target.

De Bromhead tweeted: "We've decided to aim Sizing Europe at the Champion Chase.

"The race has obviously become more open since yesterday, so that's where we'll go."

Sizing Europe can be backed at 20-1 with the sponsors for the second-day highlight.
