Richard Fahey's Gabrial looks booked for a big season following a stylish win in the Bet365 Doncaster Mile.

After competing in Group One company last year with credit, he found the return to Listed company much easier, despite meeting trouble in running with two furlongs to run.

Without really asking for everything, Kieren Fallon moved his mount to the outside and Gabrial (100-30) quickened up smartly to put the race to bed.

Although gelded in the winter he still showed a little quirk by drifting to his right but it certainly did not slow him down.

"He's done that really well, hasn't he filled out over the winter," said Fahey.

"He'll be going to Chester, Marwan (Dr Koukash, owner) says there's a 10-furlong Group Three which will suit him (Huxley Stakes).

"Kieren said he quickened up without him even noticing, he's got a hell of a stride on him."
