Jessica Harrington is looking for the weights to go up for Citizenship to take his chance in the Betfair Hurdle at Newbury on 11 February.

The six-year-old gelding staked his claim for this valuable handicap hurdle, claimed by Harrington in 2003 with Spirit Leader, by winning the Boylesports.com Hurdle at Leopardstown on Saturday.

However, the weights for the Betfair are already out and the six-year-old was allotted just 9st 9lb.

Should top-weight Brampour, trained by Paul Nicholls, not make it to Newbury, then Harrington would get her wish.

There is a gap of 11lb from Brampour on 11st 12lb to the next horses in the weights, Jonjo O'Neill's Get Me Out Of Here, and the Nicholls-trained Zarkandar, who are both on 11st 1lb.

"He is in great form and we'll see what the handicapper does now," said the County Kildare trainer.

"He's in the race at Newbury but the weights need to come up for him - Paul Nicholls has control of the race as he has top weight."
