Frankel is firmly on course for his eagerly-awaited reappearance in the Greenham Stakes at Newbury on Saturday week.

The unbeaten Dewhurst winner went through his paces on the Al Bahathri gallop in Newmarket on Wednesday morning, delighting connections in the process.

Trainer Henry Cecil said on his Twitter page: ‘Frankel seems to be doing well. Feel he'll be ready for his race a week on Saturday (at Newbury), all being well.’

Owned by Khalid Abdullah, Frankel is odds-on with the major high street firms for the Qipco-sponsored 2000 Guineas at Newmarket on 30 April.

He is also favourite for the Investec Derby on 4 June.
