Henry Cecil is likely to give red-hot 2000 Guineas favourite Frankel a run in the Greenham Stakes at Newbury in preparation for the Classic.

The unbeaten colt appears to have the world at his feet after his easy win in a competitive Dewhurst last year and he has been the most talked about horse in Newmarket all winter.

He is as short as 4-5 favourite with totesport for the first Classic of the season and Cecil is keen to see him in action before the big day.

'Everybody keeps asking me about Frankel. He's done very well, he's settling very well, he's grand and at the moment I'm delighted with him,' said Cecil.

'I'm just going to let him do the talking. I think we'll see him before the Guineas, I think the experience will be good for him.

I haven't got the confidence to send a horse for a Classic without a run. I always think it brings them up after the winter and I also think it will be a good education for him to get him away from home, so I think it's more likely he'll run at Newbury in April.'
