Nina Carberry will become the fourteenth female jockey to take part in the Aintree Grand National on april 8.

Nina Carberry is set to take on brother Paul in the first ever brother/sister clash in the Aintree Grand National.

Nina has been handed the ride on 40-1 shot Forest Gunner, who sparked a massive gamble last year when ridden by Carrie Ford and came close to costing the bookies millions of pounds when finishing fifth. Paul, who has already tasted National victory aboard Bobbyjo in 1999, is booked for Noel Meade's Sir OJ who is priced at 33-1.

In betting terms, William Hill offer 5-6 each about who will get furthest in the race.

The bookmaking firm also offer 10-1 for Nina and Forest Gunner to better Carrie Fords fifth place last year (so far the best position ever acheived by a female jockey) and also 8-11 for the pair to complete the National course and even money that they don´t get round.
