Yeats records impressive Cup win

Yeats recorded an impressive pillar-to-post victory in the Group One Vodafone Coronation Cup at Epsom today. The Aidan O'Brien-trained colt broke smartly under Kieren Fallon and with none of his six rivals keen to go on, the Ballydoyle raider set out to make all.
Yeats, sent off at 5-1, went a good clip and galloped to a two-and-a-half-length win over Alkaased, with Reefscape a further three lengths away in third. Fallon set an even early pace with Bandari settling on his heels in second while Warrsan, seeking an unprecedented third win, was just in behind.
Coming round Tattenham Corner, Yeats was still cruising along and Fallon turned the pace up a notch as Bandari dropped away. Yeats produced a fine response, quickly pulling clear of the pack down the straight.
Alkaased tried to launch a late run down the outside but despite Jimmy Fortune's best efforts, Yeats just had too many guns for the 2-1 favourite.
