Dermot Weld is preparing a strong team for the inaugural Irish Champions Weekend on 13 and 14 September at Leopardstown and the Curragh.

Two of his stars are on target to run, with Jersey Stakes winner Mustajeeb on course for a new Group Two and the exciting Forgotten Rules heading for the Palmerstown House Estate Irish St Leger.

Sheikh Hamdan's Mustajeeb has not run since Royal Ascot, but Weld stated that was always the plan.

He said: "Mustajeeb will run in the Clipper Logistics Boomerang Stakes, the Group Two over a mile on Irish Champions Weekend (Leopardstown, 13 September).

"He won the Jersey very well and then we eased off him.

"There was nothing really for him mid-season so I've brought him back for some nice races with the end of the season in mind.

"Forgotten Rules will head for the Irish St Leger.

"He's coming along very nicely."
