Dermot Weld will look to the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby for Fascinating Rock following his eighth to Australia in the Investec Derby at Epsom on Saturday.

The master of Rosewell House felt things did work out for the Derrinstown Stud Derby Trial winner, and is keen to give the Fastnet Rock colt another try at a mile and a half at the Curragh in 28 June.

Weld said: "He got into a lot of trouble coming down the hill, he was never balanced.

"He ran on and finished about a length and a half ahead of Ebanoran, so you could say the Derrinstown was run to roughly to form.

"You couldn't say if he stayed or didn't stay. The Irish Derby is a definite possible."

Weld added of his Investec Oaks runner-up Tarfasha: "We'll see how she comes out of the race and then make a decision on where we go next.

"We'll look at everything next week, speak with Sheikh Hamdan and Angus Gold and then we'll decide."
