Cable Bay will miss the Tattersalls Irish 2,000 Guineas at the Curragh later this month and is unlikely to make his seasonal reappearance until late June.

Although the Invincible Spirit colt won just once from seven juvenile starts, he showed his quality with placed efforts in the Richmond Stakes at Goodwood, the Champagne Stakes at Doncaster and the Dewhurst Stakes at Newmarket.

However, he has yet to make his three-year-old debut, with early-season setbacks delaying his comeback.

With the Irish Guineas no longer under consideration, trainer Charlie Hills revealed Cable Bay is also likely to miss Royal Ascot.

Hills said: "He's had a few little problems which have put us back.

"He'll miss the Irish Guineas and probably won't run until after Royal Ascot."
