Front-runner Un De Sceaux landed his sixth straight win in impressive fashion in the Grade 2 Red Mills Trial Hurdle at Gowran Park.

Eddie O'Connell's six-year-old made all the running to win by 16 lengths. Ridden by Ruby Walsh, he beat his Willie Mullins-trained stablemate Midnight Game.

The 1-14 favourite has won every race he has run in by upwards of six lengths and is a 12-1 chance for the Stan James Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham.

"He's a horse that's taken a bit of minding and looking after" - Ruby Walsh

“He was good today,” Walsh said. “When he stepped up halfway down the back, he jumped the last four or five very well.

"Mentally, he's a horse that's taken a bit of minding and looking after. The more he's enjoying it, the better the chance he has of progressing."

In the other Grade 2 at Gowran Park, Outsider-of-four Argocat gave jockey Brian O'Connell another big-race success after Last Instalment in last weekend's Hennessy Gold Cup when gamely taking the Red Mills Chase.

O'Connell brought Tom Taaffe's six-year-old to make his bid at the second-last where Bog Warrior unseated his rider and Aupcharlie fell.

That left Argocat (10-1) to hold off his sole remaining rival Turban, the 5-4 favourite, by three-quarters of a length.
