Ground conditions are expected to be the best for years for the prestigious two-day meeting at Fairyhouse this weekend.

The recent decent spell of weather means all is set fair for the fixture featuring three Grade One races on Sunday.

"We're having a great run-in at last and it's all set fair for a great weekend," Fairyhouse general manager Peter Roe told At The Races.

"At the moment the ground is good, good to yielding in places. I don't think the ground will change significantly from the current going description. We have no serious rain forecast.

"At this time of year there is no real drying, but for the first time since the year 2000 the words 'soft' or 'heavy' will not appear in the going description for this meeting. That's great in itself.

"Everything is pointing to a great weekend and the weather is giving us a great chance this year. The forecast for the weekend is lovely, dry and cold, and it's cracking racing. This is really what whets the appetite."
