Tony McCoy moved to within touching distance of his 4,000th career winner over jumps with a double at Wetherby.

The record-breaking 18-times champion is just six short of that magical figure on 3,994 thanks to victories on Gone Too Far in the bet365 Novices' Hurdle and More Of That in the concluding Watch Racing UK On Freeview 231Handicap Hurdle.

He went to the West Yorkshire track knowing that At Fishers Cross, arguably his best ride of the day, was a non-runner in the bet365 Hurdle and the meeting began badly when he fell from Sixty Something in the opening Racing UK Your Racing Home From Home Novices' Chase.

However, the brace meant he did not leave empty-handed and he heads to Carlisle on Sunday with six rides on a seven-race card, including Tap Night for Lucinda Russell in the feature Colin Parker Memorial Intermediate Chase.
