Liberty Counsel could bid to join an elite band of horses to win the English and Irish Grand Nationals.

Dot Love's 10-year-old mare may be aimed at Aintree for the Crabbie's Grand National in April after landing the Irish version at Fairyhouse on Easter Monday.

Liberty Counsel is currently enjoying a holiday after having five runs since the Irish National, the latest coming at the recent Galway Festival when she was pulled up in a three-mile handicap hurdle.

"Liberty Counsel is perfect. She's having a break now and we're toying with the idea of bringing her back and getting her ready and hopefully going to Aintree next spring," said Love's assistant, Ciaran Murphy.

"She wants at least an extended three miles so we think she's made for that. If the owners and ourselves can agree on that it will be a lovely opportunity for her near the bottom of the handicap."

The last horse to win both Nationals was Numbersixvalverde, who was successful at Fairyhouse in 2005 and at Aintree a year later.
