The Mares Maiden Hurdle gets underway at 4.30

An intriguing meeting at Tramore starts with the Style Evening At Tramore Races Mares Maiden Hurdle, in which Faustina Pius will bid to open her account.

John Queally's runner was not beaten far at Killarney last time and is now knocking on the door of a first hurdles win.

Wexford second Mutiska and Downpatrick runner-up Ultra Light will make this competitive.

Willie Mullins looks to have found a good opportunity for Shamar to get back to winning ways when he faces three rivals in the Tote Jackpot Races 3 To 6 Hurdle.

The five-year-old won twice over timber before just going down at Galway last time.

Though he has to give weight all round, he is still treated far better than he would be if meeting these rivals in a handicap.

Mullins has just one other runner on the card, with Bluemountainbeach carrying his hopes in the Littlewoods Style Evening INH Flat Race.

He will have to step up on his Wexford seventh to stop Waylander and Joshella.

The Summerhill Shopping Centre Tramore Beginners Chase looks a trappy affair, but the step back up to staying trips could help Cloone Springs exorcise the memory of his heavy Galway defeat.

Raajih is a major danger having placed on his last three outings, while Parthian Empire appeared to improve for the switch to fences at Tipperary last time.

Three last-time-out winners lock horns in the Waterford & Tramore Racecourse Directors Handicap Hurdle.

Zane Grey is the most heavily hit by the handicapper, having been raised 11lb for his emphatic Wexford win.

Line View is up 4lb for his Limerick success, while Magnetic Force has a 5lb rise and top weight to contend with.

Cheap As Chips, Ambush Angel and Chinook Run all have claims in the Chia Bia 4 Life Handicap Hurdle.
