Trainer Paul Deegan is looking forward to seeing star mare Midnight Soprano make her seasonal reappearance in the Cork Racecourse Mallow Noblesse Stakes on 16 June.

The six-year-old enjoyed a quite outstanding campaign in 2012, winning five of her eight competitive appearances, as well as being placed at Group Three level.

A Group Three victory is top of the agenda for the current campaign, which Deegan expects to be Midnight Soprano's last before she is retired to stud.

He said: "She'll be starting off at Cork in a couple of weeks and I really can't wait to get her going again.

"She's a special mare and in really good form at home.

"Our main aim is to try and win a Group Three with her this year, so hopefully we can do that.

"At the moment the plan would be for her to win a Group Three and then finish her career in the Irish St Leger at the Curragh (15 September)."
