David Pipe has ruled His Excellency out of a trip to Punchestown this week following the horse's run at Ayr last weekend.

However, it is still possible the five-year-old may turn out quickly in the bet365.com Celebration Chase at Sandown on Saturday.

Pipe reports His Excellency to be in good form from his exertions in finishing second to Conquisto in Scotland on Saturday, and will monitor his condition before making a decision about Sandown.

What is for certain is that the gelding will not take up either of his entries at Punchestown, in the Bibby Financial Services Handicap Chase or the Ryanair Novice Chase, on Thursday.

"The only place he may go will go is Sandown," said the Nicholashayne trainer.

"He seems to come out of Ayr fine. We'll see how he is over the next few days and he definitely wont be going to Punchestown."
