Dundalk preview

An evening all-weather meeting at Dundalk is the only action on these shores on Friday, with the Crowne Plaza Hotel Race & Stay Handicap the pick of the action on an eight-race card.

Top-weight Shake The Bucket has been in splendid form recently and will have no problems coming back in trip, with recent winners Core Element and Golden Shoe boasting obvious claims as well.

However, Suehail doesn't have too many miles on the clock and he might be one to keep on side in the coming weeks following his promising reappearance in second here last month.

Racing begins at 5.50pm with the www.dundalkstadium.com Rated Race, in which the Aidan O'Brien-trained Ahimsa is sure to prove popular, having only narrowly missed out over a mile here last week. She is well drawn to go one better.

El Salvador shaped with considerable promise in a couple of maiden events on turf last summer and the Ballydoyle representative should prove hard to beat on his return to action in the Bookings At dundalkstadium.com Maiden.

The consistent Noverre Princess will be expected to lay down another bold challenge in the Winter Racing At Dundalk Handicap (Div 1), while some interesting three-year-olds go to post for the Dundalk Stadium - Light Up Your Night Handicap, with the pick possibly Your Pal Tal, a winner over 6f here on his final start as a juvenile in December.

The Dark Angel colt should continue to progress, a comment also applicable to Sword Of Light, who produced by far and away his best performance to date when bolting up here a fortnight ago.

The Crowne Plaza Leading Jockey & Trainer Championship Handicap is another interesting race on paper, and the hat-trick seeking Balmont Flyer is firmly on the upgrade so is highly respected as he takes on the likes of Salam Alaykum and Denny Crane.
