This afternoon's meeting at Fairyhouse goes ahead after the track passed an 8am inspection.

Officials had been concerned by the prospect of rain and snow overnight but they have assessed conditions and given the meeting the thumbs up.

Wednesday's meeting at Down Royal has been cancelled due a waterlogged track.

Officials were due to inspect at 8am but they have made an earlier call as sufficient improvement in conditions is unlikely.

Horse Racing Ireland said: "Down Royal is cancelled on Wednesday. The track is partly waterlogged following with 10mm rain yesterday and a light covering of snow."

Meanwhile, officials at Carlisle remain optimistic of racing on Wednesday despite calling an inspection for 8am on raceday.

A centimetre of snow fell at the track overnight but clerk of the course Kirkland Tellwright is hopeful of racing going ahead.

He said: "We had a centimetre of snow overnight and we will inspect at 8am on Wednesday

"I'm quite optimistic of racing though, as it's forecast to be wet today and the snow should thaw."

This afternoon's meeting at Market Rasen goes ahead as planned after the track passed an inspection.
