Racing at Downpatrick and Exeter has been cancelled today due to waterlogging.

Parts of the track were found to be unfit for racing due to waterlogging at Downpatrick in an inspection this morning.

This afternoon's meeting at Exeter, featuring the rescheduled Peterborough Chase, has been abandoned due to waterlogging.

An 8am inspection was called yesterday by clerk of the course Barry Johnson but incessant overnight heavy rain left him with an easy decision to call the meeting off early.

This afternoon's meeting at Towcester will go ahead as planned after the course passed an impromptu 8am inspection.

No problems were anticipated overnight by clerk of the course Robert Bellamy but after double the forecasted amount of rain fell he was forced to inspect.

When daylight came, however, Bellamy and his team were happy enough to give the meeting the green light.
