Aidan O'Brien and his family have escaped unharmed after a fire at the Ballydoyle yard.

The blaze started in an upstairs bedroom at around 10pm on Wednesday but the emergency services were soon on the scene.

O'Brien, his family, staff and animals are all safe and an investigation into the cause of the fire is due to take place later on Thursday.

Ballydoyle is home to Coolmore stud, the largest breeding operation of thoroughbred racehorses in the world.
