Noble Prince enjoyed a straightforward victory on his return to action in the Ben Dunne Gyms Supporting Kildare GAA Poplar Square Chase at Naas.

Paul Nolan's Cheltenham Festival winner was sent off the 1/3 favourite to account for two inferior opponents and although he briefly took up the running five from home, he assumed full control after touching down over the third-last in a share of the lead.

Outsider Jigalo tried to go with him, but Davy Russell only had to let out an inch of rein for Noble Prince to stroll four and a half lengths clear.

Mystic Desir appeared to have the Frank McGlynn Maiden Hurdle all sewn up when clear halfway down the straight but he tired dramatically after the last and was caught by Dessie Hughes' Lyreen Legend (8/1).

Cottrelsbooley also paid the price for early exertions when collared close home in the K Windows & Doors Supporting GAA Hurdle.

Denis Cullen's charge was a long way ahead of the chasing pack approaching the turn for home and battled gamely once his advantage was whittled away, but Fully Funded and Owega Star (4/1) just had too much in the tank, with the latter prevailing in a photo finish.

Winning trainer Peter Fahey's brother Paul made it a good day for the family when He'llberemembered hung on in the Copper Face Jacks Supporting Kildare GAA Brown Lad Handicap Hurdle.

The 12/1 shot fended off Ad Idem under a determined Emmet Mullins, while the Keadeen Hotel Supporting Kildare GAA Handicap Hurdle was similarly competitive and went the way of the Colm Murphy-trained Ten Bob (4/1 favourite), with Mark Walsh carrying the JP McManus colours to a two-and-a-half-length triumph.

Fully Funded's team of Noel Meade and Davy Condon gained some compensation when 6/1 chance Monastrell claimed the scalp of market leader Far Away So Close in the Weatherbys Ireland GSB Beginners Chase.
