Oscar Dan Dan justified 11-10 favouritism by trouncing his rivals in the Vendee Hurdle at Thurles.

Tracking the leaders early, Ruby Walsh sent him on at the third-last and he quickened smartly to open a decisive margin before the next obstacle.

The Tom Mullins inmate skipped over the final two with aplomb and Walsh didn't have to get serious at all for his mount to register a 15-length verdict over Schindlers Hunt, who shaped with plenty of promise on his return to action.

Mr Warbucks claimed the scalp of Whatuthink on his introduction to fences in the Thurles Beginners Chase.

Shane Hassett sent Adrian Maguire's 8-1 shot into the lead four out, with market leader Whatuthink hot on his heels until a mistake halted his progress at the next obstacle.

The favourite recovered to throw down a renewed challenge, but Mr Warbucks always looked like holding him and crossed the line with a length in hand.

Michael Bowe's Coolcashin (4-1) made it second time lucky over fences in the Horse & Jockey Beginners Chase.

A Grade Two winner over timber, he had proved a costly failure on his chasing debut at Cork in May but left that behind him here and having jumped to the front early on the second circuit, he accounted for Sizing Australia by four lengths.

Barely a length separated the first four home at the end of three miles in the www.thurlesraces.ie Handicap Chase. My Lord Oscar (100-30) and Robbie Power just got the better of Major Decision, with Pagan Magic and Harbour View in close attendance.

The Killinan 3-Y-O Maiden Hurdle was fought out by two interesting recruits, and the well-backed even-money favourite Cross Appeal just denied Doctor Deejay.

Willie Mullins' runner-up was brought to lead over the final flight by Ruby Walsh, but 'Slippers' Madden conjured an extra winning effort from Cross Appeal, and his trainer Noel Meade doubled up with Outlaw Kid (2-1) in the Cashel Maiden Hurdle.
