War to resume battle at Thurles

War Of Attrition is likely to bid for back-to-back victories in the Thurles Chase on 5 November after missing an intended engagement at Punchestown tomorrow.
Trainer Mouse Morris decided not to declare the 2006 Cheltenham Gold Cup hero for the Star 'Best For Racing Coverage' Chase as he felt the race came too soon after his reappearance at Gowran Park earlier this month.
'He was just a bit stiff after Gowran. I thought tomorrow's race was a bit quick so we'll wait for Thurles in two weeks' time,' said Morris.
War Of Attrition won both the Punchestown and Thurles races last autumn, his only successes of the campaign.
