Peter Schiergen’s Neatico mowed down Opposite and Hunter's Light to land the Grosser Dallmayr-Preis at Munich racecourse.

Opposite, trained by Andre Fabre and sent off favourite for the race, engaged in a long duel with the Saeed bin Suroor-trained Hunter's Light and eventually got the better of Silvestre de Sousa’s mount in the run to the line.

Neatico was being bustled along in third entering the final furlong but responded gallantly to the urgings of Andrasch Starke to lead close home in the mile and a quarter Group One contest.

The winner is unbeaten in his last three races.
