Chris Wall has revealed Premio Loco needs to show more encouragement on the gallops or he could draw the career of his stable star to a close.

The veteran winner of eight Group races has not appeared since his 12th-placed finish in the Winter Derby at Lingfield back in March.

"His early work in the spring was quite good, he ran well on his debut then ran very flat in the Winter Derby," Wall told At The Races.

"He had a couple of niggly problems, which was minor usual sort of things, but since then he hasn't really been himself. He's been quite flat and quiet.

"He's just started to show signs of sparking up again now so we'll hope if he starts to spark up in his work, we'll get him back on the track.

"If it doesn't happen, the I suppose we'll have to contemplate retiring him as he's getting on."
