Intello followed up his French Derby triumph with a smooth victory in the Prix Messidor at Maisons-Laffitte.

The only three-year-old in a six-strong line-up, Andre Fabre's colt dispensed of his older rivals in decisive fashion on what was a drop back in trip to a mile.

After stablemate Prince D'Alienor had set the pace, Intello (2-7) put the race to a bed with a good turn of foot in the hands of Olivier Peslier to win by a length and a half from Mainsail.

Paddy Power left Intello unchanged at 6-1 for the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.
