Newcastle will go ahead after inspection but Sunday's meeting at Carlisle has been lost to a frozen track

This afternoon's meeting at Newcastle goes ahead after the track passed an 8am inspection, but tomorrow's meeting at Carlisle has been abandoned due to a frozen track.
Newcastle clerk of the course James Armstrong gave the fixture, which features the StanJames.com Fighting Fifth Hurdle, the go-ahead after walking the track.
He told Channel 4's The Morning Line: "We are on. We have a couple of areas to look at but if they don't improve, we can simply bypass them.
"We will also move the bend into the straight so we are on fresh ground."
