Slievecorragh fought off all challengers to make every yard of the running in the Jigginstown Hurdle at Naas.
The 4-1 chance travelled superbly for Mark Walsh, but his lead was never greater than a length until he kicked ahead on the turn for home.
That put the result to bed and a fluent leap at the last sealed his fate as he came home four lengths clear of Maca Rince.
Walsh's bid for a double on John Kiely's Taking Stock in the Caragh Maiden Hurdle ended in agonising defeat as his late charge was not enough to catch Leggy Lad (16-1), who won by a head for trainer Stephen McConville.
Tom Mullins' Some Slam got off the mark over hurdles at the third time of asking when coming home clear in the Thoroughbred County Maiden Hurdle.
The 5-2 chance was always to the fore under Niall Madden and after building up a solid lead, he only had favourite Sweet My Lord in attendance approaching the last.
Sweet My Lord came to grief at the final flight, allowing Some Slam to come home five lengths ahead of newcomer Fingal Rock.
Dessie Hughes' Ballochroy (25-1) finished with a wet sail under Ian McCarthy to get up close home and beat L'Oiseau De Feu by a head in the Martinstown Opportunity Handicap Hurdle.
John Coleman's Hoochie Mama made it 22nd time lucky when opening her account in the Sallins Handicap Hurdle, coming home a length and a quarter in front of Endergiser in the hands of Katie Walsh.
Cottrelsbooley may only have one eye, but he certainly packs some talent as he made all the running to land the Monread Flat Race.
Willie Mullins' 5-1 chance ran out on his only other start this term, but showed none of those wayward tendencies as he drew nicely clear to beat Mountmassey by 18 lengths under Patrick Mullins.
