Kazal and Psycho have both made the frame at the Cheltenham Festival but compete at a lower level this year and cross swords in the Comeragh Beginners Chase at Clonmel.

Kazal looked far from a natural when last seen over fences and has spent over a year on the sidelines, while Psycho has had some time off himself, although he's been absent only since November.

Both are class acts when right, though, and a fascinating clash is in prospect if they put in a clear round.

The Slievenamon Maiden Hurdle starts the meeting off at 2.35 and sees Topper Harley attempting to confirm the promise of a couple of third-placings at this venue.

Liam Burke's pair of Novedevichy and The Great Iam bring winning point-to-point form into the Powerstown Maiden Hurdle and haven't been set too difficult a task on their introduction to racing under Rules.

But Willie Mullins takes the wraps off a lightly-raced Flat recruit in Pozyc and he is certain to have his supporters.

Shorecliffe King was third in the Suir Handicap Hurdle 12 months ago and his only outing since resulted in a second at Punchestown.

That will have teed him up nicely, although there is plenty in the way of opposition, not least from Swift Lady, Dizzy Rascal and Nipper John.

Kind Oscar was chasing home the likes of Moskova and The Midnight Club before letting favourite-backers down at Thurles and she is worth another chance in the Clonmel Mares Beginners Chase.

The Corby Glenn bids to supplement his Fairyhouse success in the Margarets 50th Celebration Handicap Chase, but conceding weight all round won't be easy.

Mullins unleashes newcomer Up The Beat in the Ardfinnan INH Flat Race, but Toor Brook Honours has kept good company and will be tough to contend with, as will winning pointer Dermey Bowler.
