Captain Cee Bee holds on for Naas win

Captain Cee Bee gave his supporters a bit of a scare at the last fence again but stayed on his feet to run out a decisive winner of the Opera Hat Novice Chase at Naas.

Eddie Harty's Arkle favourite was sent off at 4-11 to atone for his spill at Leopardstown over Christmas and he moved smoothly through to head long-time leader Fosters Cross straightening up.

He was already in command when getting the final obstacle wrong, but he recovered well and regained his momentum to pass the post 13 lengths ahead.

Grey Soldier gave the Cheltenham claims of Rite Of Passage a boost when landing the Paddy Power Chel Trial Sunday Maiden Hurdle.

Gordon Elliott's grey chased home the Neptune Investments favourite at Leopardstown but met nothing of that ilk here and after squeezing through a gap on the rails after the last, eased home two and a half lengths ahead of Monastrell as the 4-7 favourite.

Caduceus was two places in front of Monastrell when second at Fairyhouse and further enhanced the form in the More Ante-Post Value On Betfair Maiden Hurdle.

The even-money market leader was challenged by Pay The Bounty on the run to the final flight, but he found more for Paddy Flood and came home 13 lengths clear.

The Bosses Nephew hadn't been seen since last May but was produced at his peak by John Brassil to land the Naas Handicap Chase.

The Dew At Night appeared the most likely winner when hitting the front at the last, but Tom Doyle brought Brassil's 14-1 chance with a well-timed challenge to get up by three-quarters of a length.

Joint favourite City Of Doral enjoyed a 6-1 win, while Across The Bay came home a winner at 4-1.
