Zaynar gears up for seasonal bow

Nicky Henderson's Zaynar is reportedly in fine form as he prepares to make his seasonal reappearance in the Coral Ascot Hurdle this weekend.

The son of Daylami was unbeaten in three starts during his juvenile campaign, culminating in a battling victory in the Triumph Hurdle at Cheltenham.

The four-year-old steps up in trip and takes on his elders for the first time in Saturday's Grade Two.

Bookmaker Victor Chandler, head of owning syndicate, Men In Our Position, is looking forward to seeing how his charge fares. He said: 'We were obviously delighted with the brave performance of Zaynar in the Triumph Hurdle, particularly as he looked like he may get tapped for toe at Cheltenham.

'This step up in trip to two miles, three and half furlongs should suit him and I understand he has been ticking all the right boxes during the summer break.'
