Master sound after Cheltenham loss

No physical issues have emerged with Master Minded following his defeat in Sunday's Connaught Chase.

While trainer Paul Nicholls had warned he would come on in fitness after his third-place finish at Cheltenham behind Well Chief and Mahogany Blaze, of more concern was Master Minded's tendency to hang right.

The champion trainer will take time in attempting to solve the puzzle, with the gelding needing to defend his titles in the Tingle Creek at Sandown and eventually back in the Queen Mother Champion Chase.

Nicholls said: 'He's 100% - absolutely fine. I had to go to France but I saw him before I left and he ate up last night.

'Clifford Baker, my head lad, has rung me to let me know there seem to be no obvious problems too.

'We'll just have to work away with him for the next week or so but he appears to be fine.'
