Murtagh to take it easy

Johnny Murtagh is to take the rest of the week off as he continues to recuperate from a fall at Dundalk eight days ago.

The Ballydoyle stable jockey rode at Tipperary on Thursday and at both Doncaster and the Curragh over the weekend, but he has now decided to give his injuries more time to fully recover.

His agent, Eddie Byrne, said: 'He's just feeling a little tender after physiotherapy this morning and he's been advised to take a few days off after riding yesterday and Saturday.

'We'll give Listowel a miss for the rest of the week and he'll take it easy for a few days as a precaution.

'There are some big meetings coming up and he wants to make sure he is 100% for them.'
