Star entry for Betfair Chase

Kauto Star and Exotic Dancer feature among 18 entries for the Betfair Chase at Haydock on 22 November.

Kauto Star, the 2007 Cheltenham Gold Cup hero, won this race last year and could take his chance again following his impressive return to action at Down Royal last weekend, while the 2007 runner-up Exotic Dancer could reoppose.

Snowy Morning is one of four Irish-trained possibles with two other Gold Cup winners in War Of Attrition and Kicking King also engaged, with the latter already confirmed on course for the Grade One contest. Mister Top Notch completes the Irish quartet.

'We've entered Snowy Morning in the Betfair Chase and he is a possibility for the race,' said Mullins.

'We scratched him from Down Royal because he didn't work well the other day. He's come back to himself now and seemed a lot better on Tuesday morning.

'If there's nice racing ground then he's certainly a possible for Haydock and I would be hopeful of a good run should he take his chance.

'I was delighted with the progress he made last season, especially since we forfeited the first half of the season to protect his weight for the Grand National.

'He will be given an entry for Aintree again this season but I'm not sure the handicapper will give him much chance of winning. We will have a look at the Betfair Million. It's a big ask for a horse but we will see if he goes to Haydock before deciding any further plans.'

Other Betfair Chase contenders include Ryanair Chase victor Our Vic, two-time Charlie Hall Chase winner Ollie Magern and Albertas Run.
