Conduit aims for St Leger target

Conduit was given a 14-1 quote by the sponsors for the Ladbrokes St Leger after Ryan Moore swept from last to first in the totesportcasino.com Handicap at Epsom.

Owned by Ballymacoll Stud and trained by Sir Michael Stoute, the three-year-old was smashed into 11-8 favourite in the ring and from an unpromising position he thundered down the straight to record a striking six-length success.

Ballymacoll's Peter Reynolds said: 'He is an improving type and we'll have to see what the trainer says about plans, but he could go to Royal Ascot.

'He is a close relation to Hard Top so there is no reason why he won't stay further. He'll be a nice horse for next year too.'
