Dylan has International aim

Dylan Thomas is set to be Aidan O'Brien's main hope in the Juddmonte International as George Washington will not run at York.

The Ballydoyle handler told the Racing Post: 'The horses still have bits of work to do and we'll be keeping an eye on the ground situation.

'But it's looking as if Dylan Thomas and Duke Of Marmalade will be going for the International. We might also run something else in the race but we're thinking of waiting with George Washington and aiming him at the Irish Champion Stakes instead in September.

Dylan Thomas, a fluent winner of the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot, is William Hill's new 2-1 favourite for the International.

Vodafone Derby hero Authorized has been eased out to 9-4 in the betting.

Frankie Dettori teamed up with Peter Chapple-Hyam's colt  in a gallop that pleased connections ahead of the Juddmonte.

The Epsom hero worked over seven and a half furlongs on the Limekilns at Newmarket this morning, striding well clear of stable companion River Alhaarth.

Chapple-Hyam said: I'm absolutely thrilled with his latest piece of work - as was Frankie. He felt that the horse was back in the same form that he was for the Derby. That was ideal and we're looking forward to next Tuesday,'' he told his website.
