Soldier wins in France for O'Brien

Soldier Of Fortune gave Aidan O'Brien his first Pattern-race success of the campaign when winning the Group Two Prix Noailles at Longchamp.

The Galileo colt, ridden by Christophe Soumillon, took the 10-and-a-half-furlong contest by a length and a half from Spirit One, with Spycrawler another three lengths away third.

'The horse pulled a lot but we were helped by a good pace from Spirit One and he could relax during the race," reflected Soumillon.

'I was was very satisfied by that. He took a bit of time to reach a high speed but he did it well in the end. He left a good impression and should progress from this race.'
