Wolverhampton to go ahead

Today's race meet at Wolverhampton has been given the go-ahead despite another outbreak of foot and mouth in the locality. The meet was given the green light by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food after it was ruled that the course falls outside the infected area and that no extension would be made to the exclusion zone.

"I've spoken to the BHB and have been advised by them that the latest information they have is that Wolverhampton falls outside an affected zone and it's all systems go," said Fergus Cameron, clerk of the course.
