Function Dream to bypass Aintree

The Irish-owned Function Dream will not run at Aintree this year but will wait instead for the re-scheduled Cheltenham Festival. The mare, owned by a syndicate of Irishmen had a disappointing run during her last start at Huntingdon, despite winning her previous five races, which shortened her odds for the Queen Mother Champion Chase now due to be run on April 18.

Trainer Mary Reveley believes the hard season may have just caught up on Function Dream during her last outing. "She's shown nothing at home to suggest there was anything wrong with her last time. She might be at the end of her tether after a hard season running in competitive races," she said.
