Philip Quinlan has upped his training workload this year in preparation for the games, training three-four times a week, combined with his job in Spinal Injuries Ireland. In London, he will compete in the singles and doubles events.
He has played three warm-up tournaments this year, the Italian, Slovenian and French Opens where he had closely-contested matches with the world number two and world number four. In the team events he won silver in the Irish Open this year with his partner Philip Quinlan.
In 2011, he clinched gold in the US Open in singles and silver in the Copa Tango XI and the Hungary Open.
This rich vein of form that he finds himself in will stand him in good stead as the current world number 16 aims to impress in his first Paralympic Games.
