James Dwyer, originally from Waterford, but based in the USA, competes in the grade IV class in Para Equestrian.

On his first major championship appearance for Ireland, Dwyer secured an impressive fifth-place finish at 2010′s World Equestrian Games in Kentucky.

Dwyer was also a member of the team which placed second at Hartpury in 2007 and individually he achieved two seconds and a third.

Based on his current form, James and horse Orlando are in a good position entering his first Paralympic Games in London.
