Helen Kearney was diagnosed with Friedreichs Ataxia (a neuromuscular disorder) at the age of 12 and competes in the Grade IA class at Para Equestrian.
Kearney has emerged as one of Ireland’s brightest talents having made history in 2011, winning individual bronze (Para Equestrian Ireland’s first ever medal) at the 2011 European Championship in Moorsele, Belgium.
Kearney is one of Ireland’s most promising riders. She has high hopes of continued medal success at London 2012 with her horse, Mister Cool.
