Enda Smyth competed at Beijing 2008 and produced three top-ten performances in the time trial (ninth), 1km time trial (seventh), and the individual pursuit (seventh).

Smyth made the decision to go full time in 2011 and this has been reflected in a list of improved performances. He earned his best-ever road race finish of eighth at the UCI World Paracycling Championships in 2011.

In the 2012 UCI World Paracycling Championships, Smyth came seventh, narrowly missing his Irish record. He also finished 12th in the UCI Road World Cup in Rome in May.

Finishing just outside the medals at Beijing 2008 and with recent improvements in form, Smyth will aim to climb the podium in London.
