Ireland set for crunch tie in Lacrosse C'ship

Ireland face Scotland in the 2010 FIL World Lacrosse Championship in Manchester today, with the winner set to advance to the quarter-finals of the competition.

Ireland have had a successful tournament so far, notching wins in all three of their group matches.

Victories over South Korea, Slovakia and Switzerland meant Ireland qualified top of the standings in their section.

The Irish team then defeated Sweden 12-7 on Sunday to move into the final of the Upper Bracket section in the tournament, which means Ireland are already guaranteed a high finish in the competition.

The tie with Scotland begins later today.
