Fitzilliam LTC hosts Squash Nationals this weekend
Monday, 14 December 2009The Irish Squash Federation is hosting the Irish Senior National Event in Fitzwilliam Lawn Tennis Club from Friday 18 December at 5pm through until the finals at 4pm on Sunday 20 December.
Ireland's top squash players will be taking part in the event. Madeline Perry, ranked world number nine and fresh from her runner-up place in the WISPA (Women's International Squash Players Association) Monte Carlo Squash Classic, will be in Dublin to defend her title.
Perry has enjoyed one of her best years to date after beating world number one, Nicol David on her way to reaching the final of the British Open in September.
The men's draw will see Ireland's top ranked player Liam Kenny (currently world number 64) and the current Nationals champion, take to the courts to defend his title.
The weekend will be an action-packed feast of squash over the three days with 96 participants taking part right through from the top rankings to the Over-40s.
