Bree to miss European Championships

Andrew Bree has pulled out of this year's European Swimming Championships in Eindhoven due to take to take place between 18 and 24 March.

Bree ran into visa problem while returning to university in Tennessee recently which interrupted his training schedule.

Now he has decided to continue his training in the US and skip the Europeans.

As a result of Bree's decision the Irish team for the European Championships is now reduced to five members. Ashling Cooney, Melenee Knocher, Grainne Murphy, Claire Dawson and Barry Murphy will all travel to the Netherlands.

Bree will compete in the Irish long course championship in Dublin in May.
