Ireland lost 2-3 to South Africa in their international match at the Galway Lawn Tennis Club today.

There was a full house hoping to see Ireland repeat the victory over Canada the previous night in Dublin, but were they sadly unable to secure a victory

In the absence of Scott Evan's who is preparing for the World Championships, Joshua Magee was first in the men’s singles. Magee fought hard but ultimately lost in two sets.

In the women’s singles Jennie King was on court in place of Irish regular Chloe Magee. King started strong but ended up also losing in the two sets.

The first three-set game of the day came from newly formed doubles teams Sam and Joshua Magee. The brothers were victorious over Canada the night before but couldn’t repeat the result against the Springboks.

Chloe and Jennie paired for the woman's doubles to take on South Africa and provide the Irish with their first win, beating them in two sets. Ireland’s next win of the day came from mixed doubles regulars Chloe and Sam Magee who won the match in two sets.
